The Children’s Room has much to offer for children of all
ages. Items available include books, VCR tapes and DVDs,
Audio books, Easy Reader, Award-winning, fiction,
non-fiction, biography, graphic novels, series books, and
interactives (books with links to computer activities).
A spectacular adventure awaits!
Thanks to the Stanley and Elaine Ball Foundation, the
children’s area has a new look. There are books bigger than
kids can imagine and a forest room with reading nooks. A
kiosk offers electronic game pads and computers. Many new
materials have been added.

MILK AND COOKIES*
This program occurs in the Children’s Room every third Saturday*
of the month, September through May: includes story time, themed
projects, guest presenters, snacks, from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M.,
for young children and parents.

PARENTS AS TEACHERS:
March 21st , Parents as Teachers from the Hollister
School District, will be at the Library to celebrate National
Poetry Day, from 11:00 AM to Noon.
This season’s program will begin, on Saturday April 6 at 10:00
AM, with a short introductory program, in the downstairs
conference room. Participants should dress for a planting work
time in the gardens. Children of any age can join at no cost.
Parents are welcome. The first few meetings will be on Saturday
mornings; which may change to Tuesday evenings in the summer.
This year, local Master Gardeners awarded our program with
$1,100 to purchase needed materials, trees and flowers. Thanks
to Patty Slicer for organizing this fun project.

SUMMER READING PROGRAM:
That is the theme of the 2018 children’s summer reading
program. The program will begin on Tuesday, June 5th
, in the Stanley & Elaine Ball Children’s Library. This
six week program for PreK – 4th grade
features a reading challenge, fun activities, and
surprise guests. Each Tuesday session lasts 60-70
minutes. The theme will focus on musical instruments,
reading, and learning how to rock out! Call for

ADELYN VALETT ART COMPETITION:
May 1st , at 7:00 PM,
artistic works from students at Branson and Hollister
High Schools, will be exhibited in the Stanley & Elaine
Ball Children’s Library. Prize money in the amount of
$1,000 will be awarded to a variety of categories. The
“Friends” of the Library and the Branson Regional Arts
Council sponsor this annual art awards ceremony. All are
