FOR CHILDREN

FOR CHILDREN

The Children’s Room has much to offer for children of all ages. Items available include books, VCR tapes and DVDs, Audio books, Easy Reader, Award-winning, fiction, non-fiction, biography, graphic novels, and series books.

A spectacular adventure awaits! Thanks to the Stanley and Elaine Ball Foundation, the children’s area has a new look. There are books bigger than kids can imagine and a forest room with reading nooks. A kiosk offers electronic game pads and computers. Many new materials have been added.

 JUNIOR GARDENERS

This program began on April 8th, 2017, when several Master Gardeners’ helped our junior gardeners (ages 1 to 14) plant perennials at the Library. This first meeting was a success and  continues into the summer. Library Board member and Master Gardener, Patty Slicer, saw this dream become real, because there was a need to beautify the Library property while teaching young children the joy of gardening. The local Master Gardeners awarded our gardeners with $1,400 to purchase needed materials, trees and flowers. A generous donation of perennials came from Home Depot, as well as trees from the City of Branson. Monies from supporters of the project also helped in supplying materials for this project.

The Junior Gardeners met every other week during the summer months. The program was such a success, that the Branson Tree Board awarded the gardeners with the August Beautification Award.

Congratulations to all of our junior participants and to Patty Slicer who organized this event. Come and see our beautiful gardens!
